Over the past week (26-30th September), there has been a lot of activities happening in and around campus. Assisted by the scorching sun and brittle breeze that came ever so often, everyday was a day to enjoy and catch some tan!
Read on to find out more about what actually happened and glimpse some images.

MONDAY

We told you to come find us. Oh yes, we were around. Running up and down campus in our ACS hoodies.

TUESDAY - Credit Crunch Cookout/Fun Day

Just going to jump straight to the point and say that The Credit Crunch Cookout/ Fun Day in Bede park was a huge success. We were happy to see and meet everyone that came out to play in the park with us and catch tans in the scorching sun
Chicken and Sausages galore! P.S the chicken didn't last 5 minutes before it all reached the bottom of everyone's stomach.
To accompany the scrumptious food there were games being played around the park. We had:
5-a-side football, skipping, double-dutch and rounders.
Peep the pics below.

After the heat sweated us all out, we made our way to the shade and coolness of Interlude where the music was boomin and the ground was pumping. A place where everyone can sit in the cool and discuss where they were going next.

WEDNESDAY - FRESHER'S FAIR!

On this day we had a stall up at the societies fair at the Student Union. The beautiful weather from the day before at the Fun Day was still with us which made it an even nicer day. There were barely any hot and bothered smiles, but rather cool, excited and eager-to-learn faces.
Here was the chance for everyone to sign up and acquire their DMU ACS MEMBERSHIP and discounts galore from the local business for food, clothing and services.

Later that day was the biggest Fresher's party of the year....

THURSDAY - NETBALL & FOOTBALL TRIALS

This day was CRAZY! We had Football and Netball trials happening simultaneously, at two different venues. My sympathy could only go out to the media crew teleporting between both venues.
View their efforts in capturing the spirit of the day.

FRIDAY - Stepping Taster Session

WHO ARE WE!?
>>D-M-U A-C-S<<

WHAT DO WE DO?!
>>STOMP!<<

WHERE DO YOU GO?
>>I GO D-M-U<<

We had the priveledge of using Leicester African Caribbean Centre to have the session. The studio was clad with inspirational words and the atmosphere inside was FLAMING! The work rate levels were in the thousands.

The African Caribbean Society (ACS) is a student led network that exists at universities across the United Kingdom. ACS has grown to become one of the largest student societies in the United Kingdom. Its objectives are to unify and explore the diversities within the African and Caribbean cultures through social, cultural and educational activities. Membership is not restricted to students of African or Caribbean heritage, but is open to all students interested in discovering the splendour of the diverse cultures from these two communities.

If you want to get involved whether it be writing reports/reviews/blogs, contact us and we will see what we can do for you.

Lets all work together to make your university experience a great one. Don’t forget to take a look all the other tabs and ENJOY
